Motion Design Study

Rive Studies

A small collection of interactive motion explorations built in Rive. Each study stays live on the page, so the pieces can be clicked, replayed, and explored instead of being flattened into static thumbnails.

Interactive gallery

These studies are embedded directly as Rive canvases. If a file has built-in click or hover behaviors, they remain active here. The control buttons are just there to make the page easier to explore.

Study 01

Balancing Act

A playful, click-driven piece where shapes change randomly after each interaction. Every click produces a different result, making it a fun exploration of randomness and state-machine-driven motion.

Focus Randomness, state machines, and click-driven interaction.
Hint Click directly on the canvas — each click triggers a new random state.

Study 02

FPS Selector

An interactive frame rate selector that makes the difference between FPS values tangible. Choose an FPS using the numbered buttons, then drag along the X axis to change the ball’s horizontal position and observe how motion responds at each frame rate.

Focus Frame rate perception, interactive UI, and motion feedback.
Hint Select an FPS using the buttons, then drag along the X axis to move the ball and compare how it behaves at different frame rates.

Study 03

Avatar

A character animation study exploring expressive motion and state-driven personality. The avatar reacts and shifts between states, making it a study in how personality can be encoded into motion.

Focus Character animation, expressive states, and personality through motion.
Hint Interact with the canvas to trigger different avatar states.

Why keep them live

Motion studies lose a lot when they are reduced to posters or exported videos. Keeping them interactive makes the page feel closer to the original intent.

How the page behaves

Each study is rendered in its own canvas and resizes with the layout, so the experience works on desktop and mobile without turning into a cramped embed.

What we can expand later

If you want, we can add captions about what each experiment was exploring, or surface named controls from the files if you want deeper interaction.
